The name ALTO refers to the idea of elevation: it evokes height, refinement, and a level of ambition that goes beyond ordinary cooking.

In Italian, alto means “high,” a direct image of ambition, higher standards, and precision.

In music, alto refers to a medium‑high, warm, and expressive register — a balanced tone that perfectly symbolizes the mastery and harmony the product embodies.

The name refers to:

harmony,
warmth,
balance,
purity of form and clarity of intention.

Because it expresses its three major strengths:

1. Elevated design

Minimalist, architectural, and decidedly modern.

2. Functional mastery

Fast heating, precise control, and total reliability.

3. Human warmth

Designed to bring people together, to share, and to create memorable culinary moments.

ALTO is a high-end gas barbecue designed to deliver a professional‑level culinary experience, both outdoors and indoors (without the lid).

A ceramic burner is a burner that uses a perforated ceramic surface or a radiant panel to diffuse heat in the form of infrared energy. This technology makes it possible to reach very high temperatures quickly while using less gas than a traditional burner.

Ceramic burners outperform stainless-steel burners for several reasons:

Higher temperatures (up to 800–900°C)
Perfect searing of meats (steakhouse effect)
Ultra‑even heat with no hot spots
Instant reactivity: heats up in seconds
Less energy loss: ceramic radiates heat instead of only heating the air

Cast stainless steel is durable, but it cannot match the thermal performance of a ceramic burner.

Yes.

Ceramic retains and radiates heat as infrared energy, which allows:

faster heating
better heat retention
lower fuel consumption for the same cooking power

At equivalent performance, a ceramic burner is more economical than a traditional metal burner.

Yes: they deliver a higher real heat output.

A traditional burner heats the air, whereas a ceramic burner heats the food directly through infrared radiation, resulting in:

more intense searing
better juice retention
faster, more controlled cooking

Yes, they are versatile:

High‑temperature searing for steaks, chops, and burgers
Indirect cooking with the lid closed
Low and slow cooking, as they maintain stable heat
Vegetables, fish, and delicate grills: the radiation is evenly distributed

Temperature control remains very precise.

Yes.

Ceramic:

does not rust
does not deform
has exceptional heat resistance
is not affected by corrosion or the acidity of fats

When properly maintained, a ceramic burner can last far longer than most stainless‑steel burners.

No, it’s actually the opposite.

Most of the time:

a simple burn‑off (heating to incinerate residues) is enough
no aggressive brushing is needed
no risk of rust

Maintenance is minimal.

Because it is the most:

high‑performing
stable
durable
energy‑efficient

It is also the technology that delivers the best culinary results, especially for those who appreciate authentic grilling and professional‑level searing.

Continuous ignition is a system that generates a series of sparks as long as you keep the button pressed.

This greatly increases the chances of lighting the burner on the first try, even when conditions are not ideal (humidity, wind, slightly delayed gas flow).

Faster and more reliable ignition

Multiple sparks to maximize efficiency

Performs very well even when the burner is damp

Technology used in high‑end appliances

Yes. The system operates with an electronic module powered by a battery.

The battery lasts a long time and is very easy to replace.

Piezoelectric ignition is a mechanical system that produces a single spark each time the button is pressed.

It does not require

Because it generates only a single spark per press.

If the gas takes a second to reach the burner, or if conditions are humid, you may need to click several times to achieve ignition.

Continuous ignition is the most reliable and the most comfortable to use.

It is the preferred choice on premium appliances.

Piezoelectric ignition remains a good solution for those who want a simple system with no battery.
