Coeo means "to gather" in Latin. It is the brand of fire pits and outdoor kitchens founded in Vigan by Yannick Bonfort and Amandine Berthezene.
Yannick has worked as an engineer for major French companies such as Poma, Alstom, and Tiama in France and abroad. Amandine has followed a path in business law at Columbia University in New York and at the Paris Bar School before resigning from a business law firm to go to China.
Both are from Vigan and decided to combine their skills in engineering and the French art of living to create uniquely designed products.
"This concept of outdoor cooking allows us to enhance our art of living and promote gathering and conviviality," they explain. The idea came during a break. "We went on a world tour with a backpack. We realised that all our experiences abroad were marked by encounters around local meals, the best of which were cooked over a wood fire! We then decided to combine our skills to create products designed for all those who love to live outdoors!" The COEO TRIO fire pit was born.
The fire pit used by the students of L'Institut Paul-Bocuse.
"In 2021, we created our website and opened sales. The concept is popular and demand is strong. Our clientele is made up of 50% individuals, caterers, 45% resellers, and 5% landscapers, architects."
Last September, Amandine and Yannick were welcomed at the Paul Bocuse Institute for a culinary world tour: "We are extremely honoured that the Paul Bocuse Institute has chosen Coeo and the Coeotrio brazier, its counter, and brand accessories for their students to train, develop their skills, and discover outdoor cooking. It is a just reward for all our investment in recent months. We are very proud and, being very attached to the Pays Viganais, it is close to our hearts through our concept to associate it with this wonderful corner of the Cévennes to enhance it."
