This award means a lot to us. It is the result of two years of R&D and signifies that despite the geographical distance and the challenges our young company faces, the alliance of engineering and gastronomy allows us to shine beyond the borders of our low mountains.
The Gard sacred king of barbecue. The company Coeo Design, founded in March 2020 and based in Vigan (Gard), has just won the German Design Award, the 2024 Design Excellence Award. A major accolade for this Occitan start-up that aims to revolutionise the codes of the barbecue industry. Coeo won the German competition thanks to its latest invention: the Kamado Quatro, "a multifunctional cooking tool that allows you to smoke, stew, grill, sear and much more!", explains the company, managed by Yannick Bonfort and Amandine Berthezene.
The leaders continue:
"We have created a kamado barbecue with an unconventional shape, innovative ceramics, a unique finish and a well-thought-out top vent (superior ventilation). The name Quatro was chosen because this kamado has four different features (shape, ceramics, superior aeration and finish) compared to other kamados created before".
For Amandine Berthezene, "this award means a lot to us. It is the result of two years of R&D and means that despite the geographical distance and the difficulties our young company faces, the alliance of engineering and gastronomy allows us to shine beyond the borders of our low mountains".
