Gathering together is the very essence of COEO. After exploring the world with their backpacks, studying in New York, and accumulating professional experiences in North America and Asia, Yannick Bonfort and Amandine Berthézène realised that their most precious moments were always linked to times spent around a fire.
First fire pit in 2020: the TRIO barbecue fire pit
The first lockdown in March 2020 brought them back to their native Cévennes, which gave them the opportunity to realise a dream: to share a lifestyle they cherished so much. This is howthe first product of COEO was born, the TRIO, an elegant and functional fire pit.
"Our entire story began with the fire pit," says Amandine Berthézène. The duo combined their skills in materials, design, engineering, and gastronomy to create an object that embodies the very essence of COEO.
« In 2023, we expanded the range with the Quatro, a versatile Japanese kamadothat has won over chefs around the world," specifies the co-founder.
Last week COEO was in Germany to receive the most prestigious international design award: the German Design Award 2024.
A community around COEO: transforming local raw products in an original and unique way
COEO is not just a brand, it is a community. Founded in the heart of the Cévennes,the company strives to stay close to its members through an online platform.
With the motto "from us to you",COEO organises events, shares recipes, presents new products and gathers feedbackfrom the community to create practical, aesthetic and sustainable products.
"What led us to the association Le Tour des Terroirs isour desire to highlight the diversity of French Terroirand all the variations that can be cooked. Being from the Cévennes, we are very attached to our terroir between the Mountains and the Mediterranean and appreciate showcasing the range of cooking methods that our tools allow."

« We aim to give our products clean and simple lines with sustainable materialsto create practical, decorative and evolving objects. The products are designed to live outdoors, with particular attention paid to functionality, durability and aesthetics," details Amandine Berthézène.
Collaboration with chefs
The meticulous creation process of COEO involves establishing aprecise specifications.
« Au moment du prototypage, il nous arrive de travailler avec des chefs afin d’avoir leurs avis sur la réactivité à l'allumage, le maintien de la température et d'autres aspects cruciaux, explains the co-founder. For example, we have received numerous feedback from chefs who want smaller kamados to fit in their kitchens. We hear the requests and we adapt the products.We will soon be releasing a smaller kamado. »

The materials are carefully selected, and the manufacturing is followed bya meticulous quality control to ensure the excellence of each product.
Thanks to a global network of partners, established during their travels around the world, the two founders bring together, within COEO,the best of all culturesto create original, generous and accessible products.
The company envisions the future with expansion by creating other cooking tools, along withmodular furniture and accessories, always collaborating with chefs to perfect every detail.
