- Firebox grate for kamado
AN ESSENTIAL PART FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR KAMADO
The bottom hearth grate COEO is an essential element for the proper functioning of your kamado. Positioned at the bottom of the bowl, it supports the charcoal while allowing optimal air circulation through the firebox. This air circulation is essential for fueling the combustion and ensuring a stable temperature during all your cooking. A firebox grate in good condition promotes rapid temperature rise, more precise heat control, and controlled charcoal consumption. It directly contributes to the overall performance of the barbecue, whether you are grilling, slow cooking, or smoking at low temperatures.
AN OPTIMAL AIR FLOW FOR EVEN COMBUSTION
CONTROLLED AIR CIRCULATION
The design of the firebox grate allows air to reach under the charcoal to effectively fuel the combustion. This constant flow promotes quicker ignition and an even distribution of heat throughout the firebox.
BETTER CHARCOAL MANAGEMENT
Thanks to its role as a support, the grate keeps the charcoal away from the bottom of the bowl while preventing excessive ash accumulation. This improves combustion quality and limits heat loss.
REDUCED CHARCOAL CONSUMPTION
Good air circulation allows you to obtain more energy from the same amount of charcoal. This way, you enjoy more efficient cooking while reducing your fuel consumption.
A ROBUST CAST IRON DESIGN
RESISTANCE TO VERY HIGH TEMPERATURES
Made of cast iron, the COEO fire grate is designed to withstand the extreme temperatures generated inside a kamado. It retains its mechanical properties even during intensive and repeated use.
A LONG SERVICE LIFE
Cast iron offers excellent resistance to heat and wear. With proper maintenance and normal use, the fire grate can accompany your kamado for many years.
WHY CAN A FIRE GRATE BREAK?
CAST IRON RESISTS HEAT BUT FEARS SHOCKS
Although very thermally resistant, cast iron remains a relatively fragile material to impacts. A fire grate can crack or break as a result of a significant mechanical shock.
THE MAIN CAUSES OF BREAKAGE
- Dropping the grate during transport or cleaning.
- Sudden projection of large pieces of charcoal into the firebox.
- Use of metal tools causing a shock to the grate.
- Significant thermal shock, especially in the event of contact with cold water when the part is heavily heated.
Replacing a damaged grate is recommended to maintain the combustion performance and safety of your kamado.
USAGE AND MAINTENANCE TIPS
REGULARLY CHECK ITS CONDITION
Take advantage of cleaning the firebox to check for cracks or deformations. Regular inspection allows for anticipating potential breakage.
EMPTY ASHES FREQUENTLY
The accumulation of ash can reduce the airflow under the charcoal and decrease cooking performance. Regular cleaning helps maintain optimal draft.
HANDLE THE PART WITH CARE
Even though cast iron is particularly robust against heat, it is recommended to avoid shocks during assembly, disassembly, or maintenance operations.
THE ADVANTAGES OF THE COEO BASE GRATE
OPTIMAL COMBUSTION PERFORMANCE
The COEO grate promotes consistent and even combustion for reliable cooking results.
PRECISE TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Better air circulation allows for easier adjustment of temperatures according to the desired cooking type.
CHARCOAL SAVINGS
Improving combustion efficiency reduces the amount of fuel needed to reach and maintain the desired temperature.
GENUINE SPARE PART
Specifically designed for COEO kamados, this grate ensures perfect compatibility and allows you to regain the original performance of your equipment.

Warranty conditions
- The warranty is valid only for the first buyer of the product.
- Proof of purchase (invoice or receipt) is required for any warranty claim.
- The warranty exclusively covers manufacturing defects and material defects found during normal use.
Warranty exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear of the product.
- Damage resulting from improper use, poor maintenance or incorrect assembly.
- Shocks, falls, impacts or mishandling.
- Cracks or breaks caused by tools, coal or any other object.
- Damage related to thermal shock.
- Damage occurring during transport, storage or installation by the customer.
- Unauthorized modifications or repairs.
Specificities related to cast iron
The fire grate is made of cast iron, a material particularly resistant to high temperatures but sensitive to shocks and mechanical stresses.
Microcracks may gradually appear as a result of repeated shocks, especially when the grate is placed abruptly on a hard surface or subjected to regular impacts. These microcracks can develop over time and cause the piece to break. These damages are not covered by the warranty.
Warranty limitation
The warranty is limited to the replacement or refund of the product recognised as defective, excluding any indirect damage, loss of earnings, transport costs, labour costs or any other compensation.
